Artist Note:
The travelling paper mobile sculpture unfolds and breathes in a new space wherever it is welcomed. Its second readaptation resides in Nature Art Museum Ko (Main Indoor Exhibition) for the Geumgang Nature Art Biennale 2026, Urban Nature Art: Let the Sunlight in Through My Window.
The sculpture carefully floats with the support of the bamboo sourced from its new home, Gongju City, South Korea, providing the integral framework to activate its unfolding. The connected rope knots and sashiko stitching serve as a ritual of mending and the coexistence between the material, audience, and space as it binds itself to the architectural foundation (2F balcony railings).
The core of the artwork is a balance between the paper’s physical fragility and resilient materiality. Every cut and fold holds a memory of its transformation. It can return to its unaltered original self, symbolizing that even at the point of continuous transformation, it remains in a state of being completely whole.
The Parallels of Reconstruction and/or Deconstruction; Possibly (II) basks in the light, and the peripheral limitations made from the layered cuts and folds portray the gradual continuity of transformation. The audience is invited to peek into the windows and reflect on what is hidden and what is willingly revealed. In connection to the theme, Let the Sunlight in Through my Window, it presents the cyclic reconstruction and/or deconstruction to every new beginning.
